Sotherby’s auction includes platinum jewelry highlights

Sotheby’s will be holding an auction for important jewels in New York this month and platinum jewelry leads the list of sought-after pieces.

The event, taking place on September 28th and including items with a total value of $11 million-$16 million, is one of the highlights of the autumn auction season and will attract the attention of the world’s biggest jewellery spenders.

A platinum and diamond necklace with a 10.02 carat pendant by Harry Winston tops the bill with an estimate of between $1 million and $1.5 million.

Another platinum and diamond necklace by Harry Winston, compromising of 50 carats of round diamonds has an estimate of between $100,000 and $150,000 and this can be complimented with an accompanying platinum and diamond bracelet worth between $75,000 and $100,000.

Other platinum items up for auction include a Sterle, Paris platinum, ruby and diamond ring (est $7,500 and $10,000) and a platinum, diamond and onyx ring by Tiffany &co. Full Article…
