Gretchen Jones Designs Not-For-Profit, Fair-Trade Jewelry for Piperlime

 

One of reality TV’s more controversial figures, has endured her share of slings and brickbats. But the reigning winner isn’t about to let her detractors get the last word. Fresh off the launch of her , Jones is debuting a not-for-profit jewelry collection with , online-only storefront and a Project Runway sponsor. Handmade by artisans in , the collection benefits , an organization that creates economic opportunities for artisan groups across the globe.

The 14-piece line, which includes gold-plated necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings, and a body chain, draws inspiration from and the 1973 cult movie , according to Jones. True to her Southwestern roots, each piece is etched with magical symbols, such as the Eye of the Medicine Man (denoting wisdom), the Fence (protection and good luck), and the Big Mountain (abundance).

The 14-piece line draws inspiration from Egyptian pyramids and the 1973 cult movie Holy Mountain.

I believe those symbols connect us to far more than the modern world and can help guide us all to better ways of living and thinking, Jones told on Wednesday. She elected to work with Aid to Artisans for a similar reason. It sets an example how how we all can come together and consciously create beautiful work while helping others, she said.

All profits will go towards furthering the organizations mission of building sustainable incomes for the worlds impoverished communities. Just one catch: All sales are final—no returns, no exchanges.
