Lula Mag Rewinds To The 90′s
Do you remember the fashion faux-pas of the 90′s? Think severely acid washed denim, flannel and baggy pants. Well, is it just me or does this Lula magazine editorial, “The Queen of All Returns” echo the hay-day of 90′s grunge style? The rock and roll shoot screams more Nirvana than Gwen Stefani.
Stylist Marina Burini layered on the eclectic clothes, giving model, Ashley Smith’s wardrobe an interesting twist. Boxer shorts inside blue tights? Hmm…maybe Conan should’ve thought of that before he jumped in his jeggings? I have mixed emotions about the hair, styled by Kenshin Asano, which lies on the extreme side of bed head in the shots below.
However, the shoot goes from extreme grunge to a modern interpretation of the era with more modern textures and layers (also ideal for winter). Even the hair softens up with soft curly tresses and a sharp fedora. I’m pretty much in love with the look below for the chilly season; after all, it’s hard to dress cute and stay warm at the same time!
