Lauren Conrad Designer Dresses at Kohl’s – Courtesy of Kohl’s Lauren Conrad debuted her designer fashion online and in department stores at Kohl’s. We review Lauren’s cute dresses for the young professional woman.
Lauren Conrad is best known as the protagonist of the MTV reality television show The Hills. After multiple seasons, Lauren decided to leave the show and focus on fashion. No one knew what to expect from her designs. Would they be fashion forward or a fashion failure?
Lauren Conrad Clothing Line Shows Promise
Like many celebrities, Lauren started her own clothing line. Unlike many celebrities, Lauren graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). Additionally, Lauren worked as an intern at Teen Vogue and worked at the powerhouse fashion public relations firm, People’s Revolution.
Lauren’s experience definitely paid off in her line. Personally, I didn’t know what to expect. When I heard she had a line coming out for Kohl’s, I initially thought of clothes for a young, teenage girl or clothes geared toward the 20-something, wanna-be fashionista.
Surprisingly, the line is neither of those things. It is actually representative of a young professional. I am a woman in my early 30′s who could wear most of this line to work or out in the evening. I do not feel Lauren’s clothes are too young or too Sex and the City wanna-be. It was her dresses that really caught my eye.

Classy Cocktail Dresses and Summer Dresses
Lauren’s dresses are all classy and stylish. She doesn’t do anything outlandish or fashion forward as a designer. Her dresses are what we’ve all seen before i.e. ruffled cocktail dresses, cute sundresses, etc. But they definitely have the Lauren “flair” of a cool print or beautiful color. Here are some of my favorites:
- The Floral Draped Dress has the print of a blue peacock. It sounds strange, but it’s actually eye-catching (in a good way). Lauren mixes royal and light blues with white and black for this sundress. My boyfriend even said it would look cute on me. Who’s a better judge than that? The Floral Draped Dress goes for $44.99 on sale.
- The Bow Dress is sweet and feminine. The print is blue bows on black polyester. The neckline is sweetheart and the bottom of the skirt has dainty ruffles. The dress has a soft, yet sophisticated edge for either a date or a nice brunch. The Bow Dress goes for $44.99 on sale.
- The Swirl Chiffon Dress is edgy. The description says it is sweet, but I disagree. The cream and gray swirl print combined with a sleeveless design and asymmetric skirt makes the dress chic. It almost looks like a light zebra print from far away. It’s perfect for a night out in the spring or summer. The Swirl Chiffon Dress goes for $41.99 on sale.
- The Floral Pintuck Dress is a classic. It is a glamorous look for all special occasions, whether you’re going to a wedding or to a party. The pintuck bodice hugs your chest while the dress flows from the waist. The print is an exquisite, purple floral on black. It’s also strapless, which I usually don’t go for, but this is so pretty and classic, I would buy it. The Floral Pintuck Dress goes for $44.99 on sale.
Lauren Conrad’s designer dresses are sure to wow you. I was wowed and that’s saying a lot for an opinionated person. So check out more of her dresses online or at Kohl’s department stores. And don’t forget to read my review of the entire Lauren Conrad clothing line at Kohl’s.
